April 16, 2026 – Federman & Sherwood is investigating a data breach involving ScrogginsGrear following a notification filed with the Attorney General of Maine.
According to the notice, the incident involved unauthorized access to an employee email account within the company’s email system. The breach was discovered on September 10, 2025, after the company identified unusual activity and launched an investigation.
The investigation determined that an unauthorized third party may have accessed personal information contained within the compromised email account. The potentially exposed information includes names along with sensitive data such as Social Security numbers, driver’s license or state identification numbers, financial account information, health insurance policy numbers, patient account numbers, and dates of birth.
