Hypertherm, Inc. Data Breach – Investigation by Federman & Sherwood

March 16, 2026 – Federman & Sherwood, a national law firm with offices in Oklahoma City, is investigating a data breach involving Hypertherm, Inc. following a notification filed with the Maine Attorney General.

According to the filing, Hypertherm discovered that an unauthorized actor exploited a previously unknown vulnerability in Oracle’s E-Business Suite software used by numerous organizations. Through this vulnerability, the unauthorized actor obtained data from Hypertherm’s Oracle E-Business Suite database in August 2025.

After learning of the incident, Hypertherm initiated its response procedures, secured its Oracle E-Business Suite environment, and launched an investigation with the assistance of cybersecurity professionals. The investigation determined that the data obtained by the unauthorized actor included tables containing the names and Social Security numbers of certain individuals.

Hypertherm began mailing notification letters to affected individuals on March 13, 2026 and is offering complimentary credit monitoring and identity protection services through Kroll.

Federman & Sherwood is investigating whether adequate safeguards were in place to protect sensitive personal information and whether affected individuals may have legal claims related to this incident.

The potentially compromised information may include:

  • Name
  • Social Security numbers
  • Other sensitive information
