Oglethorpe, Inc. Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (November 5, 2025) – The law firm of Federman & Sherwood announces it is investigating a data breach involving Oglethorpe, Inc., following the company’s filing of a data breach notification with the Attorney General of Maine.
According to the notification, Oglethorpe detected a network security incident on or about June 6, 2025, during which an unauthorized third party accessed its network environment. Oglethorpe engaged external forensic specialists to investigate and determine the scope of unauthorized activity. The investigation concluded on September 16, 2025, confirming that certain personal information was acquired without authorization. A review to identify affected individuals and their contact information was completed on October 23, 2025.
The information that may have been impacted varies by individual, but may include first and last name, date of birth, driver’s license number, Social Security number, and medical information.
Oglethorpe reports that it has strengthened its network protections, rebuilt affected systems, and notified law enforcement, including the FBI. Additionally, the organization is offering impacted individuals 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring and fraud assistance services through Cyberscout, a TransUnion company specializing in identity protection support.
Federman & Sherwood is investigating the incident to determine whether Oglethorpe adequately safeguarded the personal and medical information in its possession, and whether affected individuals may be entitled to compensation, additional identity protection services, or other legal remedies.
