Dinowitz & Bove CPA Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (August 19, 2025) – The law firm of Federman & Sherwood announces that it is investigating a data breach involving Dinowitz & Bove CPA, a New York–based accounting firm.
According to a notice filed with the Maine Attorney General, Dinowitz & Bove CPA detected suspicious activity within its systems on July 19, 2024. The firm immediately launched an investigation with the assistance of independent forensic experts. On October 21, 2024, the investigation revealed that certain data may have been accessed without authorization. After an extensive review, Dinowitz determined on July 8, 2025, that personally identifiable information belonging to clients may have been impacted.
The types of information potentially exposed include individuals’ names and other sensitive personal information. Although Dinowitz has stated that there is no evidence of misuse of the affected data, it has begun notifying impacted individuals and offering complimentary credit monitoring and identity protection services through Equifax.
