Community Phone Company Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (August 14, 2025) – The law firm of Federman & Sherwood announces an investigation into the recent data breach reported by Community Phone Company to the Attorney General of Maine.

On July 2, 2025, Community Phone detected phishing emails sent to some of its customers. Following an internal investigation, the company discovered that an unauthorized individual had gained access to a contractor’s account on a third-party platform used to record sales and customer service calls. The compromised account potentially exposed transcripts containing sensitive customer information.

Community Phone has stated that it promptly secured the compromised account, implemented enhanced security measures, and notified affected individuals. Customers have been urged to remain vigilant, monitor their financial accounts and credit reports, and be alert to suspicious communications.

Federman & Sherwood is investigating this matter to determine the full extent of the breach and whether adequate safeguards were in place to protect customer information.

The compromised information may have included:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Credit card number, expiration and CVV
  • Bank account number and routing number
  • Other sensitive information
