Birdair, Inc. Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (June 24, 2025) – The law firm of Federman & Sherwood announces that it is investigating a recent data breach involving Birdair, Inc., a specialty contractor based in New York, which was reported to the Maine Attorney General’s Office on June 20, 2025.
According to official filings, Birdair experienced a network disruption on October 28, 2024, which led to unauthorized access and acquisition of sensitive data. Following an in-depth investigation assisted by independent cybersecurity experts, Birdair confirmed on May 28, 2025, that personal information belonging to Maine residents was involved in the breach.
The compromised data may include name, date of birth, driver’s license or state ID number, financial account information, health insurance information, individual taxpayer identification number, medical information, passport number, and/or Social Security number. Although Birdair has stated that there is no current evidence of misuse, the highly sensitive nature of the data significantly elevates the potential risk to affected individuals.
Birdair has sent notices to affected individuals and is offering free identity protection services through Cyberscout, a TransUnion company. These services include credit monitoring, dark web surveillance, a $1 million identity fraud reimbursement policy, and fully managed recovery services. Impacted individuals are urged to enroll within 90 days of receiving notification.
Federman & Sherwood is actively investigating the scope of the incident and whether adequate data security measures were in place at the time of the breach. The firm is evaluating potential legal claims on behalf of those whose information was compromised.
