Elixir Medical Corporation Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood

September 9, 2026 – Federman & Sherwood, a national consumer protection law firm, is investigating the Elixir Medical Corporation data breach following a notification filed with the California Attorney General.

According to the notice, Elixir Medical Corporation learned that an unauthorized party gained access to its computer network and immediately launched an investigation with assistance from third-party experts. Elixir also notified law enforcement. The investigation determined that the unauthorized party accessed Elixir’s network between July 20 and July 21, 2026. On August 11, 2026, Elixir determined that potentially affected files contained human resources information relating to current and former employees and consultants, as well as certain beneficiaries and dependents.

The information potentially affected includes individuals’ names, Social Security numbers, and, depending on the individual, driver’s license numbers, credit or debit card numbers, medical information, and direct-deposit bank account information.

The exposure of Social Security numbers together with financial, medical, and other identifying information may significantly increase the risk of identity theft, financial fraud, medical identity theft, unauthorized account activity, and other forms of misuse.

Elixir states that it is continuing to implement and evaluate enhanced safeguards and security measures and provide security training to its employees. The company is also offering affected individuals complimentary Experian IdentityWorks Credit services, which include three-bureau credit monitoring, identity restoration assistance, and up to $1 million in identity theft insurance. The publicly filed notice does not specify the duration of the complimentary membership.

Federman & Sherwood is investigating whether Elixir Medical Corporation implemented reasonable cybersecurity safeguards to protect sensitive personal information and whether additional security measures could have prevented or reduced the impact of the data breach. The firm is also evaluating potential legal claims on behalf of affected individuals.

The potentially compromised information may include:

  • Names
  • Social Security numbers
  • Driver’s license numbers
  • Financial information
  • Medical information
  • Health insurance information
  • Other sensitive information
