Lennar Corporation Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood

August 12, 2026 – Federman & Sherwood, a national consumer protection law firm, is investigating the Lennar Corporation data breach following a cybersecurity incident that may have compromised sensitive personal information.

According to a notice filed with the Nebraska Attorney General, Lennar Corporation became aware of a potential issue involving a limited portion of its information systems on March 30, 2026. An investigation determined that an unauthorized party used sophisticated social engineering tactics to access certain Lennar systems between March 24 and March 30, 2026. Lennar completed its assessment of potentially affected information on July 30, 2026.

The information potentially involved may include names, contact information, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, passport or other government identification information, driver’s license or other state identification information, and financial account information. A small number of individuals may also have had health insurance identification and/or medical-related information involved. The specific information affected varies by individual.

Lennar states that it is not aware of any misuse of sensitive personal information in connection with the incident. The company reported the incident to law enforcement, implemented additional technical security measures, and began notifying potentially affected individuals on August 11, 2026. Lennar is also offering 24 months of complimentary identity monitoring services through Kroll.

Federman & Sherwood is investigating whether Lennar Corporation implemented reasonable cybersecurity safeguards to protect sensitive personal information and whether additional security measures could have prevented the incident. The firm is also evaluating potential legal claims on behalf of affected individuals.

The potential exposure of Social Security numbers, government-issued identification information, financial account information, and other sensitive data may place affected individuals at increased risk of identity theft, financial fraud, and other forms of misuse.

The potentially compromised information may include:

  • Names
  • Social Security numbers
  • Dates of birth
  • Addresses
  • Government-issued identification numbers (driver’s license numbers, passport numbers, state identification numbers)
  • Financial information
  • Medical information
  • Health insurance information
  • Other sensitive information
