OnTrac Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood

July 24, 2026 – Federman & Sherwood, a national consumer protection law firm, is investigating the OnTrac data breach following a cybersecurity incident that may have compromised sensitive personal information.

According to the consumer notice, OnTrac discovered suspicious activity affecting a limited portion of its corporate computer network on March 23, 2026. An investigation conducted with the assistance of third-party specialists determined that certain files may have been accessed without authorization between March 20 and March 22, 2026. Following a comprehensive review, the company determined that the affected files contained an individual’s name together with additional personal information that varies by recipient.

OnTrac reports that it is not aware of any fraud or public disclosure of stolen information resulting from the incident. Nevertheless, the company is offering affected individuals 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring and identity protection services through Cyberscout, a TransUnion company.

Federman & Sherwood is investigating whether OnTrac implemented reasonable cybersecurity safeguards to protect customer and employee information and whether additional security measures could have prevented the unauthorized access.

Organizations that maintain shipping and logistics records often possess sensitive personal information that could be used for identity theft or other fraudulent purposes if improperly accessed.

Individuals who received a notification regarding the OnTrac data breach are encouraged to monitor their financial accounts and credit reports for suspicious activity and to enroll in the complimentary identity protection services.

The potentially compromised information may include:

  • Names
  • Social Security numbers
  • Other sensitive information
