Oklahoma Judge Refuses to Delay First Trial of Responsibility for Opioid Crisis

A recent article by Lenny Bernstein of The Washington Post reported that Cleveland County District Judge Thad Balkman has refused a request by defendants to delay the jury trial for 100 days.  “Oklahoma is seeking payments that could exceed $1 billion from the companies to cover the costs of coping with the drug crisis.”  State of Oklahoma, ex rel. v.
