Northern California Children’s Therapy Center (NCCTC) Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (April 28, 2025) – On March 16, 2025, an unauthorized third party exploited a vulnerability in Northern California Children’s Therapy Center’s (NCCTC) system and gained access to certain individuals personal information stored on their system. Upon discovering the breach, NCCTC took immediate action to secure the system and prevent any further access. By March 19, 2025, the technical issue was resolved, and the platform was fully secured.

Since the incident, NCCTC has conducted a comprehensive internal review and is working closely with IT and cybersecurity experts to investigate the matter and strengthen the ongoing security of its systems and patient records.

NCCTC provides developmental screenings through the Help Me Grow Yolo County Program (the HMGYC Program), which is funded by First 5 Yolo under an agreement with Yolo County (the Funding Agencies). Like other community programs offering early childhood services, NCCTC uses a cloud-based file system to collect, manage, and store information to facilitate developmental screenings and connect families with appropriate resources. This system houses the screening records

Federman & Sherwood is actively carrying out a comprehensive investigation to determine the full extent of the data breach, including whether additional information may have been compromised and the overall impact of the incident. The firm urges all affected individuals and organizations to remain vigilant and take proactive measures to safeguard their personal, medical, and financial information.
