Keys Pathology Associates, PA Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (September 3, 2025) – The law firm of Federman & Sherwood announces that it is investigating a recent data breach involving Keys Pathology Associates, PA (“Keys Pathology”) and its billing vendor, Genesis Billing Services, Inc.
According to a notice filed with the Maine Attorney General, Genesis Billing Services experienced a cybersecurity incident on or about May 20, 2025, when an unauthorized third party gained access to its systems, downloaded files, and encrypted its network. Genesis hosted patient billing data on behalf of Keys Pathology. The breach potentially exposed sensitive personal and health information.
Keys Pathology has confirmed that it will no longer utilize Genesis for billing services and has arranged for affected individuals to receive complimentary credit monitoring, credit reports, and fraud assistance services through Cyberscout, a TransUnion company.
While there is no evidence at this time that the compromised information has been misused, the exposure of such data presents significant risks of identity theft and fraud.
