Federman & Sherwood investigates BBS Financial Services, LLC (“BBS”) for data breach. On November 11, 2024, BBS filed notice of a data breach with the Attorney General of Maine. BBS experienced a cybersecurity incident involving their network on January 29, 2024. BBS immediately launched an investigation into the incident. The investigation determined that BBS was the target of a ransomware attack; an unauthorized party gained access to the BBS network and accessed certain individuals’ personal and sensitive information. On November 11, 2024, BBS began to send out data breach notification letters to all individuals impacted by the data breach.

The type of information potentially exposed includes:
• Full Name
• Address
• Date of Birth
• Social Security Number
• Government-Issued ID Numbers
• Financial Account Numbers
• Health Insurance Information
• Other sensitive information

BBS Financial Services, LLC is an accounting and business services firm based out of Methuen, Massachusetts. BBS also provides medical billing services to clients in Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire.
