CareNexa, LLC, doing business as Molecular Testing Labs (“MTL”) Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (December 12, 2025) – Federman & Sherwood, a national law firm focused on data breach and consumer protection litigation, is investigating a cybersecurity incident involving CareNexa, LLC, doing business as Molecular Testing Labs (“MTL”), following the organization’s recent notice to the California Attorney General.
According to the consumer notification letter, MTL learned on March 11, 2025, that a data hosting and security vendor retained by the company had experienced a cybersecurity incident impacting systems containing MTL information. MTL immediately launched an internal investigation, engaged a national cybersecurity firm, and implemented steps to contain the incident.
A forensic investigation concluded that the unauthorized activity occurred between March 7, 2025, and March 11, 2025, and affected MTL’s systems and data stored with the third-party vendor. Following a detailed review of the impacted data, MTL determined that individuals’ personal information—specific data elements varying by person—may have been accessed or acquired. Impacted data may have included sensitive personal identifiers.
Federman & Sherwood is investigating whether CareNexa/MTL maintained reasonable cybersecurity measures, whether the incident could have been prevented, and what legal remedies may be available to impacted individuals whose data was involved

- Other sensitive information
