Brevard Skin and Cancer Center Data Breach – Investigated by Federman & Sherwood

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (December 22, 2025) – Federman & Sherwood announces that it is investigating a data security incident involving Brevard Skin and Cancer Center, which was reported to the Attorney General of Maine.

According to the notification letter, Brevard Skin and Cancer Center discovered a cybersecurity incident involving unauthorized access to certain systems. The organization determined that an unauthorized third party accessed its network on or around September 28, 2025, with the incident being discovered on or about October 14, 2025. As a result, certain patient data was reportedly exfiltrated from the system.

The information potentially impacted includes individuals’ names, dates of birth, home addresses, Social Security numbers, phone numbers, email addresses, diagnosis and clinical information, and billing or claims information. Brevard indicated that financial account and payment card information were not involved.

Brevard Skin and Cancer Center reported that it notified affected individuals and offered complimentary identity protection and credit monitoring services through IDX. The incident was also reported to law enforcement and regulators.

Federman & Sherwood is investigating whether Brevard Skin and Cancer Center implemented reasonable data security measures, whether the incident could have been prevented, and what legal rights may be available to affected individuals.

The compromised information may have included:

  • Full name
  • Social Security number
  • Date of birth
  • Contact information (address, telephone number, email address)
  • Medical information
  • Financial information
  • Other sensitive information
